Lifelong Christian Formation
We gather for Children's Church School, Adult Bible Study Groups, Seasonal Book Study Groups, Intergenerational Saints' Day Celebrations, and regular Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings.
CHORAL SCHOLARS
St John’s is graced by the Choral Scholars, eight students from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers. They sing at the 10:00 am service on Sundays during the school year. They have also participated in Choral Evensong and The Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.
Arts Outreach
The Church of Saint John the Evangelist is located just down the hill from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Many of the church members are alumni of MGSA, or current students. To further its relationship with the arts, Saint John's offers its assembly hall for rehearsals at a reduced rate -- or in some cases, free of charge. The church also houses artists in the former rectory, now known as 'The Tiring House at Saint John's.'
